Temple of Peace

An 18-metre landmark for peace.

The Temple of Peace is a travelling public art installation that brings people together through creativity. Rising 18 metres into the sky, the Temple transforms squares, parks, museums and festivals into places of encounter, dialogue and hope.

Eighty colourful Peace Flags hang from the outside of the structure, making the Temple a striking public artwork that invites people to stop, look and enter. Inside, visitors discover something very different. Not an exhibition. A place where peace is created together.

At the heart of every Temple

The Makers Lab

Every day, artists, designers and makers guide visitors through creative workshops where people create together, exchange stories and discover each other’s worlds.

Activities include:

  • Designing and creating Peace Flags
  • Drawing and painting
  • Developing new symbols for peace
  • Screen printing and stamp making
  • Collective weaving with recycled textiles
  • Photography and small exhibitions
  • Storytelling and conversations

Everyone is welcome. No artistic experience is needed. Every workshop is an invitation to meet someone new.

More than an installation

A place where peace is practised.

The Temple is not a monument to peace. It is a place where peace is practised. Neighbours create alongside refugees. Children work with grandparents. Visitors discover that making something together often starts conversations that would never happen otherwise.

Every workshop plants a small seed of peace. Every Peace Flag becomes part of a growing international collection.
